Barack Obama A Two Term President

By Mimi721wis

Barack Obama will be a two term president. Although Obama's approval ratings hit a low of 43 percent he's still very electable. For many of us it appeared this white house lost touch with the American people. A long drawn out battle with the GOP over health care instead of focusing more on jobs caused many of us to lose faith in the president. The Tea Party bloomed. Distancing one's self away from the group on capital hill was popular. The Democratic party paid the price this past midterm election. They suffered a record loss in seats.

Our president showed some resilience during the lame duck session with the signing of the Food Safety Bill, 911 Health Responders Bill Nuclear Arms Control Treaty, Don't ask Don't tell elimination of Don't Ask Don't Tell, and the extension of unemployment. Not to mention the wealthy get their tax cuts extended for two more years.

The president has shown the American people he's willing to reach across the isle and work with both parties time and time again. In return the republican party continues to make filibustering a priority instead of listening to the voters. The republican party often comes across as negative and sometimes appear out of touch. Mitch McConnell said his main goal was to keep Obama from winning a second term. The Party of No has yet to reveal their plans on dealing with unemployment and the budget deficit. Maybe this will happen in the near future and John Beohner and can tearfully explain it. Obama has a head-start on the 2012 race. He knows he will be the democratic front runner. He's already the president. Holding the current title as president allows increased and easy media exposure. The republican party still have to choose their front runner. They need a theme other than just cut spending. Americans want to know how they plan to cut spending. Some potential opponents Mitt Romney, Mike Hucklebee, Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann or Sharron Angle. They are all beatable. I'm not saying it's automatic. Overall our president has what it takes to get a second term. He's sharp, motivational, positive and a 15 percent increased approval rating helps.

Hi! So far I believe Obama will be the better candidate. I try to cast my vote for the more qualified candidate. The democratic party can be weak at times. The GOP has tunnel vision. It would be nice if the parties worked for the American people but they don't.

I agree with your comment on parties working together for the American People.

I cannot see how Obama is qualified as a President. If he is he hid it well for the last two years.

I didn't think that he was qualified as a Senator much less a President.

He spent his last two years in the Senate on the road begging for votes to be president.

Neither his Senate or Presidential record shows any value to the country.

You are entitled to your opinion, but the cold hard facts indicate he failed both in the Senate and in the Executive Office. He did excel as a candidate.

I would put him in dead heat with Jimmy Carter as one of the worst US Presidents.

My opinion.

Ouch! Where do rank George Bush, the son? Maybe one day we will have more candidates that will not be affiliated with the Dems or the GOP. Some one that will not sell their souls to big c operations. It can be done.

I thought I posted a reply but I don't see it.

George W Bush in the middle of recent presidents, along with Bill Clinton and George H Bush.

Just above Carter and Obama is L. Johnson, Richard Nixon and above him is Gerald Ford.

JFK and Ronald R. on the top

Jimmy Carter and Barrack on the bottom, in a close tie.

After all of these presidents how many positive accomplishments can you list today.

1. Cuban crisis resolved.

2. Berlin Wall is down

Obama will be a two term president and I will vote for him. There is not a single Republican to run against him. Obama let us down a few times by trying to work with Republicans. He should get it through his head their only goal is to defeat him at any cost. The real leader of the Republicans is that FAT radio wing nut proudly proclaimed at one point anything goes if it makes Obama look bad.

Now we have a House Speaker that previously and proudly passed out checks from Tobacco while the House was in session, it shows the GOP doesn't even try to hide the fact they work for FAT CATS ONLY at the expense of everyone else. George W. had to cancel overseas trip for fear he would be arrested for War Crimes.

Now with the Reagan "wanna be" acting like a fool in Wisconsin I think the GOP is going to bury itself. It will be an Obama Landslide if the Republics keep throwing fuel on the fires of discontent on the middle class.

BECAUSE OBAMA REID AND PELOSI OVERREACHED and deemed/cheated their way to socializws medicine-p THAT IS WHY HE DOES NOT DESERVE ANOTHER DAY IN OFFICE I SAY IMPEACH THE BA$TARD LIAR!!!!!

Tom I agree John McCain is a stupid sponge head. That stupid sponge head also said that he would not work with Obama. The GOP owns the term "The Party or NO." The republican party has to deal with the Tea Party, Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman. That will be quite a task. Now the GOP are really over reaching.

Oh Tom, enough already with your slander. He is not a bastard or a liar. Apparently you cannot openly holler the "N" word so you yell impeach. He will go down as one of the top presidents of all time. Especially having to fight every step of the way getting no support from the GOP. He actually gave in too much to the GOP in yielding on TAX breaks for billionaires. Hardly clueless, I just am not guided by the fear, hatred and bigotry, and mean spirit as seems to be your problem.

Great Hub! Enjoyed the banter. I like Obama, do I agree with everything he's done. No. Overall, however, he's been moving forward with policy to help the American people, the GOP ran on deficit fear and since being appointed to office, have or are working on stripping the policies that protect the American people from having another collapse, which it can not afford at this time. Obama is now over 50% in the polls thanks to the likes of Scott Walker and others like him that are trying to move the country so far into the dark ages. If American's could look at the big picture and vote accordingly, this country would be a much better place. Strictly party politics will destroy this great country of ours because it will allow unqualified individuals to serve.

This is a well written hub. First let me say that i like President Obama. I worked hard to get him elected and i will again. How anyone can say he's done nothing for this country, is a total mystery to me. Everytime he tries, he is slapped by the Gop. The GOP is the party of greed and BIG business. President Obama will have a secong term. I just hope the Republicans keep right on doing what they do the best, nothing. They would love to see the sweat shops back, the people making fifty cents an hour, there would be no more unions, education would go on the back burner, private schools would be funded by the Government, and the beat goes on. Thank you for letting me voice my opinion.

Thanks Abecedarian. It would be great if more individuals focused on the big picture. The problem is so many watch Fox. I refuse to call it a news station. When people look at that garbage and nothing else, they tend to believe. No matter how ridiculous it may be.

It's great to have a truly educated President in office. He was put there not by us but the electoral college that knew someone had to clean up this mess that was decades in the making. While corporations have no interest in what Americans think (we buy anything) - they know the world (where they plan to do as much business as possible) is watching. We can't justify putting another village idiot in office.

Oh and don't you just love all the paid trolls in the forums who are doing all the Obama bashing - take a look at their profiles and you will see that many have never written a hub - they are there to work the forums and get paid. Too bad true hubbers are not checking to see who they are responding to. It's the same paid spammers over and over. Hubpages is catching up now and shutting down the accounts.

Nice hub and nice to meet you too.

Thanks BKCreative. I never thought of the paid trolls. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
